about

my story

My practice centres on experimental embroidery and the reuse of materials. I am a recent graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, where I developed a process-led approach rooted in material exploration, sampling, and making through doing.

I’m drawn to what’s already been handled, worn, or overlooked—fabrics and fragments that carry traces of time, labour, and memory. Working with these materials allows the process to guide the outcome, rather than beginning with a fixed result in mind.

Embroidery, for me, is both a method of making and a way of thinking. Through slow, repetitive stitch, I test ideas, disrupt traditional techniques, and explore texture, structure, and surface. Mistakes, irregularities, and repairs are embraced as part of the work, becoming markers of experimentation rather than flaws.

Reusing materials is not only a practical choice but a conceptual one. It reflects an interest in sustainability, care, and transformation—how something discarded can be reworked into something considered, tactile, and alive again. Each piece grows through sampling, trial, and adjustment, allowing the material to influence the direction of the work.

This practice is an ongoing exploration of process, material, and making—where small gestures and quiet details hold meaning.
